Garbage disposals: questions people ask

My disposal hums but won’t spin. What should I do?

Turn it off at the switch and don’t reach inside. Something is usually jamming it. Call us and we clear the jam and check whether the unit is still good.

Should I repair my disposal or replace it?

If it’s jammed or a connection is loose, a repair usually does it. If the unit itself is leaking or the motor is gone, a new one makes more sense. We tell you which, and the price, before we start.

What shouldn’t go down a disposal?

Grease and oil are the big ones: they build up in the drain line and cause clogs. Fibrous peels and coffee grounds are trouble too. Run cold water while the disposal is on.

How fast can you get here?
